Hello from France

We have moved down to our next destination , le lac d,orient , this has free wifi , so I,m taking advantage 

The sun has finally decided to show itself , I think the same can be said for home

We travelled over on the tunnel , mixed feelings , yes it's quick only 30 mins but I found it rather claustrophobic , I,ll see how I feel on our return journey

We have been to visit Le Blockhaus d,Eperlecques , close to where we are staying ,what an experience, it's where the Germans planned to launch the v2 rockets but the English succeeded in bombing it before they could begin ,

The pictures don,t do the place and size of the memorial justice , it was very eerie walking around inside ,knowing what it had been built to do,

Early may post

I may not get a chance to do another post for end of may, did I tell you we are off to France on Thursday for two weeks , who knows how the wifi will be there or will I be too busy drinking wine ? 

I did a craft fair on Saturday , a first for me , so all my time the last three weeks or so, has been taken up with crochet, apologies for not commenting on posts or not being available on FB , thanks to everyone for their good luck wishes , I really appreciated everyone's encouragement,

There were about 15 tables all with various crafts on display , fortunately no other crochet, plenty of knitting though and a new craft  I took an interest in , needle felting , anyone does this ?

Not much footfall ,but as it was the first maybe not many people knew about it, thanks to family and friends I did take a bit of money , so it wasn't,t a total failure, I didn't.t sell any charms or flower brooches or even flower hair bobbles so that was a bit disappointing , 

I am glad it's over with now and I can get back into the land of the living , they are hoping to do another one in October and I,ll be more prepared this time , 

Apologies for the display photos , looking at them , I know I could have displayed them better

I,ve also taken some photos or our ( untidy ) garden , I just know when we get home from France all the flowers will have been out and might even have faded , so I,ll do an after photo and show what difference nearly three weeks make 

With any luck I,ll be able to do a post from France so see you from across the pond , or see you in three weeks time

Oops I see I,ve put the same photo in twice , and don,t know how to delete it ,sorry

At least I,ve post to the right blog this time fingers crossed 

april nearly gone

My blogger friend Lucy says where has the week gone ,I say where has the month gone

Still persevering with the iPad for posting but I will have to buy an app where you can post pictures where you want and not just at the end of this post ,and hopefully do some linking up , which I can't do at the moment

23 rd April was world book night and fortunately I was again chosen to be a giver, my chosen book was The Secret Scripture by Sebastian Barry , not one I,ve read before , I am taking part in a 50 book challenge created by Steph at  show and tell  ,so we are all doing a read along , starting on Friday ,just in time to enjoy some relaxation for the bank holiday .

I,m also considering doing a craft fair next month, it's only £6 for a table which I don,t think is too bad , not too much money to waste if you don't sell anything , so I am crocheting like mad , I,ll take photos of all my finished products for next month,s post.

Oh just remembered ,I won,t be here at the end of May, we,ll be in France ,yeah , so hopefully I,ll get a post in early or late ,

There,s been some brilliant sunsets the last few days , I knew I shouldn't, have done ,but I wanted to share a photo , not a very good one I,m afraid taken with the iPad , maybe I should have used my trusty phone but that would have meant bluetoothing it to my laptop etc etc , taking up valuable crochet time

well I,ve had to resort to my laptop, I foolishly published this post on the 50 book challenge blog

although I was going to leave it as it was  and Steph (thanks ) kindly offered to try and change it for me , I thought I would give it a go and wonders it worked , so much for using my ipad

 

I,ve just realised also I showed the photo of my books in my last post , oh well, just in case you missed it the first time

 

I.ve just been looking at my photos on my phone and came across these two, so it would have been rude of me not to show them , I decided to do another tea swap with Lucy and these are what I sent her, along with a book The Kashmir Shawl by rosie Thomas

I soon had a reply back from Lucy to say Thankyou and how much she had enjoyed the tea

This post is overdue as Easter was two weeks ago.
I thought , instead of continually swapping between iPad, mobile and laptop, I,d give it a go just solely on my iPad,  cross fingers and see what happens ,


For Easter I received a lovely surprise and completely unexpected parcel from steph
Although I have mentioned it in my last post , no photos were taken , shame on me ,
Also steph kindly sent me a pattern to test out and I was overjoyed to be doing this

Okay I might be getting somewhere, I,ve been trying for last 15 mins to get some pictures up , now lets see

This is the card and knitted bunny which arrived in the post, the chocolate didn't,t last long enough for a photo


The next is Helena , a beautiful crocheted geisha girl again from steph's shop , the original pattern is from esshaych whom got me on this blogging and crocheting lark ,

The next photo is of a baby girls blanket which I was asked to make , I don,t know how we'll it has been received , but it was so simple and relaxing to do

The final photo is ,,, da dah ,,, drum roll please , Faery hedgepig. Making his debut appearance on here , a lovely pattern , again from steph at show and tell

I can,t figure out how to link up on here and I don,t know in which order the photos will appear , but here goes , I,m pressing the publish button and I,m determined not to resort to my laptop to edit this

Quick easter post

Just a short post from me today on Easter Sunday

I,ve been busy testing a pattern  for Steph and I need to finish a baby blanket as the birth is imminent
I had a lovely Easter surprise from Steph , a knitted bunny and Easter chocolates, photos to follow later

Shall we mention the snow, no , probably not , but can I just share this photo, courtesy of Yorkshire Calendar, Its Conisbough Castle and just down the road from where we live, unbelievably lovely and makes you feel good to live here

Happy birthday to me

Normally I wouldn't have celebrated my birthday with anyone here , when you have had as many as I have you don,t need reminding
but I have had such a surprise come through the post this morning , so I had to share it here with you,
my third post in 3 days



Steph , very kindly sent me this , a hand painted wee witchy card and a gorgeous brooch , I,m overwhelmed with all my birthday wishes and presents,, at first I thought how come so many people know , then realised ,duh , it's on my Facebook profile


So , I would like to thank everyone for making this day a brilliant one

Two posts in two days , whatever has got into me

My post on 27,02 was a tad hurried and I gave no real explaination and gratification for the photos I put on there, so I thought , while I am in a blogging mood , I would do just that

Steph over  at   show and tell    started at 50 book challenge blog and its good fun and going along really great ( much better than this blog ) so if you want to hop over and  take a look  , heres the link, or you can even join in, its not too late

50 book challange

Being so generous , Steph sent us all a surprise package which included a book token , that I have still to spend, a piece of bookish material ,a hand knitted book mark (picture somewhere ) a packet of garden seeds,  and   days later I received another parcel , as we are taking part in the Tea Swap which Lucy at    inthesky      orgainised and yet more super goodies,  Hand crocheted star coasters, a hand embroidered card, tea pot and tea bag charms ( which I loved so much I had to buy some ) , everything stops for tea ribbon , a teeny crocheted cup of tea with biscuit , chocolate tea ( i'm going to have a cup as a reward for doing this extra post ) a camomile tea candle,, so that is a better explaination of the photos , I was truly overwhelmed with all of Steph goodies

Just look at this cross stitched card and the Tea is Ready biscornu, I missed off my list, I've wanted to own a biscornu for ages and now i've got one

Oh just remembered Steph gave me an award , which I have talked about it my last post, when the pesky photo wouldn't upload,


Also , and again a much delayed post (which I am ashamed to say )  I won a giveaway from Catherine  over here   at a time to create .  Catherine has a beautifull family and takes some wonderfull photos  ,

 

This is what was waiting for me when i came home from work , such a lovely surprise,,a little book of Positivity,, washi tape, a hand made necklace  and a beautifull note book ,  thankyou so much Catherine,, the notebook cover is of wallpaper which was designed for the Victoria and Albert Museum in London back in 1896, and to say this came all the way from Australia , what a delightfull present .


At the moment I have a fancy for crocheting dishcloths , not that I'll ever use them

Look at my Mothers day gifts, and a treat out for a meal, aren't I lucky
