serious blogging

 Mick Hughes-
hi thought you might like some serious bogging for a change instead of just copying and pasteing much as i love it.
Last weekend we went in our caravan to Blackpool (its like marmite, you either love it or hate it)
We intended to drive or walk thro the lights and a few rides in the Pleasure Beach (for me) but we did neither.
The weather put us off, it rained and rained and rained, but what else does it do in Blackpool?
However as we were having a drink on the Central Pier we saw The Red Arrows flying past and later on they flew over in formation, just like the photo above, it was too quick for me to take a photo so i pinched one from their web site, a magnificent moment. Well worth the visit to Blackpool.
I thought i'd do a comparison of Blackpool Tower against the Eiffel Tower which is where the inspiration for Blackpool came from.
I found the following info from internet.

Erection of the Eiffel Tower began on January 26, 1887
-- The Eiffel Tower stands 324 meters tall
-- Erection of the Eiffel Tower was completed on March 31, 1889
-- Erection of the Eiffel Tower took 2 years, 2 months, and 5 days from start to finish
Blackpool tower was started
on 29 September 1891[3] with a time capsule buried beneath it.[5] the Tower finally opened on 14 May 1894,
518 ft 9 inches (blackpool)158m

Which is the better one, do you think?
Eiffel definetley for the weather and how can you not fall in love with Paris.
Blackpool for it being well Blackpool and home ie England
Which do you prefer?
I would love to hear from you if you have also visited both.
I hope you find this interesting, I enjoyed researching this and here are a couple of photos, which i did manage to take. The Eiffel Tower photo was taken last year when we went to Paris for the day, the Blackpool Tower photo was taken from the Pier after the fly past from the red arrows and a photo of the Pleasure Beach and The Big One ( which i didn't get to have a ride on.)

Also while away guess what i bought?

yes some wool I couldn't resist , maybe i will take a photo of it later lol. Its sock wool, and i also got a free pattern . Goodness knows when i will get round to knitting them.
Wow i think this must be my longest blog so far, makes a change from previous, comments please lol
Well i'll get this posted , I've got a pile of ironing to do
bye for now

blackpool

hi no more posts, until after the weekend at least. We are off for a few days to Blackpool. Yes you read correctly there's nothing wrong with Blackpool, only for a few days. The illuminations are on so i expect it will be busy. I have one more pumpkin almost completed, and i have been asked to test a pattern by Happy Hoopy Wool Junkie who is also going away but to somewhere warm.

finished pumpkin

Finished the Pumpkin for Itsy CAL. It doesn't look too bad in the photo, but i am a bit disappointed with it. I think i should have tightened the wool for the "lobes" a bit more. But hey I've enjoyed crocheting it (as i always do). I like how the stem has turned out. All in all a good first attempt, I think, no2 already in progress.

CAL

Started the CAL told you i couldn't wait. I was thinking this is going to be a lot bigger than i expected, what was i doing wrong?
The pattern says size G hook but for us newbies what is that in plain English? So i took a guess and have been using 5.00m , went on the Internet this morning and i should be using size 4.00m no wonder it's so big ,oh well . It will teach me to jump in head first. I've started so i will finish.

nomination

hey I've been nominated for an award by my favourite blogger esshaych . Thank you so much but what do i do now lol?
I have finished crocheting esshaych's tester patterns (pictures to follow soon,  be patient)and i enjoyed it so much, I'm thinking of packing my job in and doing this all the time. i love it so much. But how will i be able to buy the wool to feed my crocheting habit?
I have also signed up for itsy's CAL I'm so excited, can't wait to start, sad isn't it.
be back soon
