hi thought you might like some serious bogging for a change instead of just copying and pasteing much as i love it.
Last weekend we went in our caravan to Blackpool (its like marmite, you either love it or hate it)
We intended to drive or walk thro the lights and a few rides in the Pleasure Beach (for me) but we did neither.
The weather put us off, it rained and rained and rained, but what else does it do in Blackpool?
However as we were having a drink on the Central Pier we saw The Red Arrows flying past and later on they flew over in formation, just like the photo above, it was too quick for me to take a photo so i pinched one from their web site, a magnificent moment. Well worth the visit to Blackpool.
I thought i'd do a comparison of Blackpool Tower against the Eiffel Tower which is where the inspiration for Blackpool came from.
I found the following info from internet.
Erection of the Eiffel Tower began on January 26, 1887
-- The Eiffel Tower stands 324 meters tall
-- Erection of the Eiffel Tower was completed on March 31, 1889
-- Erection of the Eiffel Tower took 2 years, 2 months, and 5 days from start to finish
Blackpool tower was started
on 29 September 1891[3] with a time capsule buried beneath it.[5] the Tower finally opened on 14 May 1894,
518 ft 9 inches (blackpool)158m
Eiffel definetley for the weather and how can you not fall in love with Paris.
Blackpool for it being well Blackpool and home ie England
Which do you prefer?
I would love to hear from you if you have also visited both.
I hope you find this interesting, I enjoyed researching this and here are a couple of photos, which i did manage to take. The Eiffel Tower photo was taken last year when we went to Paris for the day, the Blackpool Tower photo was taken from the Pier after the fly past from the red arrows and a photo of the Pleasure Beach and The Big One ( which i didn't get to have a ride on.)
Also while away guess what i bought?
