Just a short post before we head off to Scarborough for a week in our caravan, how am i going to cope with no blogging sob sob

I think i've mentioned before that I'm a fan of Lets Get Crafting mag, as soon as its due out i rush to the shops to buy one and

A book or two I think as my wool stash is overflowing , but there again will I be able to resist. I haven't been to Hobbycraft for years I'm sure it will be hard trying to spend the voucher.

just as a matter of course, do you prepare a post, keep adding to it, then post it when you are happy with it or just post it anyway.???

I've been doing the later but I'm finding it easier to prepare a post first, then if it needs editing or adding to, it's quick to do, before finally posting it.
does that all make sense???

I've had this hook case for quite a while now but only just remembered to take a photo. It contains most of my hooks, and has a small, lined pocket to keep some scissors in, i made a chain to link through the handles to fasten to a button to prevent them from falling out genius or what lol

I've joined a swap a month group over on Ravelry, my partner lives in America, good idea or what?
How much is it going to cost me to send a gift over there oh well, I've more or less decided on what i am going to send,something already made up, so that will save me some work.

This is the completed basket, with the button loop closing and i hope a better photo,to show up the colour.
This is the the third one I've made, love the texture of the stitch, as with everything else, it takes longer to sew up than to crochet it.

More photos of my cushion as you can see its got rather big, that's to accommodate the cushion insert that hubby got .I decided to join on a darker colour and i do think its superb, I'm considering joining  front and back with white or pale blue as a contrast, what do you think ?
It looks like a huge pinwheel or a cover for the spare tyre on the back of our car
.I've actually read someones blog and they crocheted a wheel cover for the back of their camper van , it looked amazing but I don't think I'll go that far.

Hello
Just returned from a day at Drayton Manor. I tagged along with my Daughter, son-in- law,grandson and grandaughter.It was a very good day.
For anyone who doesn't know drayton is the home of Thomas Land, you can see all of Thomas,s friends and have a ride on them.
Brilliant for all young (and old ) Thomas fans.

The week before we had a few days near Buxton in our caravan. The site is brilliant, it is called Clover Fields and i would highly recommend it.
Adults only, which made it nice and peacefull, a working farm, with donkeys, ponies and alpacas.
Tea rooms are planned for 2012 when hopefully we will return.
I just lazed about and did plenty of crocheting which is my ideal holiday, oh and shopping of course.

At the bottom of the road is a Bookstore with everybook imaginable, you can have a free drink with every purchase,while you browse your book.

Ideally situated for Buxton, Bakewell, Matlock and of course the Peak district on your doorstep.

 A warm welcome from donkey who had just returned from a visit to her boyfriend, maybe a baby donkey for next year? That must mean a return visit.



 This is a photo of the alpacas, not very welcoming animals, but nice to look at, I'm on the hunt for some alpaca yarn, its very expensive though.
Apologies for the photo but you should be able to enlarge it and have a closer look.

These photos look a bit dull, the weather was brilliant, just a bit windy, had no rain at all which is a bonus.

What a cute panda I had to start him straight away and he must be my quickest project ever.

I don't normally make things as small as this, I do find them fiddly, which he was, but hasn't he turned out cute?

Will I make another one?

Wow this is my 100th blog didn't think I would get here when I started this just over a year ago.

I thought of doing a giveaway to celebrate but with blogger as it is at the moment would it be worth it ?

I've noticed I've got some new followers but who are they, is there a way I can find out?

this is quite difficult as I'm not sure what I've already blogged about  but here goes.

1. I would love to retire and spend all my time crocheting

6. I love playing Angry Birds on my new phone
7. my dream is to go to France next year for 3 weeks

 Making the most of these jam jar covers (keeping the flies out of hubby's beer)

I've pinched this idea from others its handy to put all scrap ends in and again how colourful

This was the beginning of a cushion but the edges have curled up too much (must have done something wrong)

didn't want to pull it all out though

I will attempt another one in the near future

Had to put my favourite holiday photo in

It was the highlight of our holiday two years ago wish I was back there now

Must get back to my crochet now I've got withdrawal symptoms

I'll try not to leave it so long next time

30 days of crochet

Sorry i should have posted this at the beginning of June here we are now halfway through the month.

I've been following 30 days of crochet  on esshaych' blog (pop over now and have a look) The questions, all crochet related of course, are very interesting as they make you think about your crochet projects. Some I have had an answer for straight away and others I've had to think about and go back to later on.

if you haven't visited Sarah's blog I suggest you put it on your favourites list
Its all due to Sarah that I started my blog and of course my love for crochet.


I'm long overdue for showing you some of my projects so here goes

 This is one of my stash baskets and I loved it so much i gave it to my youngest Daughter for her birthday. Don't worry Eldest Daughter I will start one for you in time for your birthday. lol.

I love the texture that this stitch gives so simple to do but so effective

and using more variegated cotton yarn I have see similar baskets in Ikea but they didn't have a flower on them (shame)

This is a scarf/shawl and I got the idea from here

The pattern took a bit of getting used to, couldn't get it into my head straight away, i had to frog it a few times before i was satisfied. The wool I used was a sock 4ply and i love the variegated colours. I don't know If I'll ever wear it But it was fun to do

and i really should get it more organized into colours, types etc instead of just filling any available spaces, and maybe not to buy any more yarn for at least a week.

problems??

Hi all
I don't know whether anyone else has had any problems with blogger
its been very annoying not being able to catch up with everyone hopefully things are back to normal now

My bookcases are up and full I just need to sort all my books out into some kind of order now
hope you like them Petty Writer.

Looking good i think and theres still room left for new books (but don't tell hubby).

Although i have already showed this flower blanket here it is again

with a few more flowers attached.

My plan was to make it large enough to cover a double bed but I think its ok once I've attached the few remaining ones and I'll leave it as it is.

I quite like looking at it on the settee and if it was on the bed i wouldn't get to look at it as often.

I've also got another project on the go

I came across this lovely shawl

and I had to get some yarn and start making it straight away

although the yarn i bought is not as nice as this it is still turning out good.

You will be missing out if you don't visit this blog some great ideas and lovely photos.

my library

As promised, here are photos of my library

Shocking amount of books

I was going to do a "guess how many"

but didn't have the inclination to count them all.

Its frightening to I think of how much money has been spent on these.

If I say approx £3 each and maybe 300 books

that comes to a small fortune.

Some are going to charity but I can't bear to be parted from all of them

so a trip to Ikea was called for.

Look at what I spotted and hasn't it come in handy

Don't they look cute makes a change from them cluttering the fireplace up

All they need now is a nice comfy cushion to sit on.

They will live in my study once the bookcases are up.

So here is Hep Cat

I think he looks French with his beret on

Any suggestions for a name ?

I think he's had a few glasses of wine, he needed my help in sitting up.

I love the pastel shades that P chose

I think he looks a bit like Robin (out of batman and robin)

With a mask for his eyes poor thing and no mouth.

What is it about finishing faces?

He will be finished by the end of this week I promise

So now bambi no2  is on my to do list.

Off now to do the ironing

 I did think about a posting a picture of my ironing pile but who would find that interesting?

If i could just show a picture and then miraculously the ironing would be done hurrah
